The DVD will be available in both standard and special editions.
On the DVD, Sasuke goes back to face Gaara in the last round of the Chunin Exam with his powerful new jutsu, Chidori. However, the match is interrupted when Orochimaru puts his scheme to destroy the Hidden Leaf Village into motion. As the Third Hokage faces his former protégé Orochimaru and his frightful forbidden jutsu, Sasuke goes after Gaara and the Sand Ninja. In watching the DVD, viewers can choose either Japanese or English languages, or English subtitles.
The special edition will include the bonus features, all three language choices, and a limited edition collector's “Summoning Creature” figurine, Pakkun.
Naruto – Uncut DVD Box Set 6 is expected to hit retail shelves on February 12, 2008. The standard edition is going for $49.98, while the special edition costs $69.98.
Recently, Viz Media released Naruto – Uncut DVD Box Set 5 in both editions. The standard release comes with a storyboards booklet, while the special release comes with the first of the collector's figurines, Gamabunta, as well as storyboard to animation comparison and previews.
Naruto is an adaptation of Masashi Kishimoto's eponymous manga series. The animated series revolves around the adventures of Naruto Uzumaki, a young hyperactive ninja who yearns for recognition and dreams of becoming a Hokage, a ninja that the village deems as the leader and strongest of all. By his side are his friends and classmates Sasuke Uchiha and Sakura Haruno, and their sensei Kakashi Hatake.
Naruto currently airs on the Cartoon Network.
